He has been to Lebanon numerous times where he now has a lot of family there from Iraq since the 2003 war.[1]

Career

Munasifi's comedic alter-ego "Habib Abdul Habib" received much popularity for joking about matters such as US security screening. While rapping most of his acts he first began with a video titled "Arlington: The Rap" which received 300,000 views in less than a day.[2]

In 2009 he signed with the Gersh Agency, and later landed a Comedy Central Records deal.[2] Munasifi has since been the opening act for rapper Wale and comedian Brian Posehn[2] and others.

Remy is also notable for a question concerning taxation that he set to music and posted on YouTube that was played during a televised 2008 United States Democratic Presidential Candidates debate.

He has performed several times in the New York Arab-American Comedy Festival.[3]

His debut production album entitled The Falafel Album is now available on iTunes,[1] which is highly influenced by his Iraqi and Lebanese heritage in regards to culture and food.[2]

He was interviewed on Fox News about the content of the song as well as his views about the debt ceiling. He also has a famous song "Saudis in Audis" which is a parody song about rich Saudi men in Audi A8s.

On October 8, the Youtube channel ReasonTV uploaded a music video, in which Remy pokes fun at the Occupy Wall Street protesters to the tune of The Times They Are a-Changin'.
